DaysLikeThis.Life: Turning Everyday Family Moments Into a Growing UK Creator Brand

There is something very special about real life when you capture it honestly.

That has always been at the heart of DaysLikeThis.Life, a warm, funny and fast-growing UK family creator brand built around everyday adventures, family life, humour, travel, books, storytelling and the small moments that often become the most memorable.

Created by Brett Orchard, his wife Victoria, two sons George and William.. Not forgetting Lola the Sproodle of course.. DaysLikeThis.Life began as a natural extension of their real lives together, days out, school runs, seaside trips, family jokes, local discoveries, travel, books, food stops, the family dog Lola, and the kind of relatable family moments that people recognise from their own homes.

At the centre of the brand are Brett, his wife Vikki, their sons George and William, and Lola the Sproodle. Together, they have created a world that feels familiar, positive and full of character. Whether it is George’s Big Brain and his daily facts, William’s Joke of the Day, a family trip to the coast, a visit to a local café, or a behind-the-scenes look at family life, DaysLikeThis.Life has grown by staying authentic.

The content is not overly polished or distant. It is real, warm and human, and we’re sure that is exactly why audiences have responded to it.

Across platforms, the brand has built a highly engaged community, reaching large audiences with family-focused videos that combine humour, personality and everyday storytelling. The aim has never been to chase trends for the sake of it, but to create content that feels genuine, uplifting and instantly recognisable.

Being shortlisted for the UK Content Creator Awards is, therefore, a huge moment for the family and the wider DaysLikeThis.Life brand.

The Work Entered:

The award-nominated work reflects the growth and development of DaysLikeThis.Life as a multi-platform family content brand.

What began as simple family storytelling has now grown into a wider creative ecosystem. DaysLikeThis.Life brings together short-form video, family lifestyle content, books, local and travel storytelling, humour, podcasting, community engagement and brand-building across several platforms.

The content entered into the competition showcased the way the family has turned everyday life into a recognisable and engaging creator brand. It highlighted recurring formats such as George’s Big Brain / Fact of the Day, William’s Joke of the Day, family adventures, local discoveries, travel moments, and the broader storytelling that connects the family’s online audience with their books and website.

A key part of the work is the way DaysLikeThis.Life bridges family entertainment with real creative projects. Brett is also an author and broadcaster, with books including The Legend of St Mawes and family adventure stories inspired by places that feature in the family’s real travels. William has also become part of the creative journey through his own children’s nature book, William’s Wild World: Secrets of the Seashore, inspired by his love of rockpooling and the coast.

This has allowed DaysLikeThis.Life to become more than a social media account. It is developing into a family media brand with multiple strands, video, storytelling, publishing, podcasting, local discovery, travel, family humour and community-led content.

The award entry reflected this wider ambition, showing how a real family can build a meaningful audience by being consistent, creative and authentic.

Why Being Shortlisted Matters:

Being shortlisted means a great deal to us because it recognises the work, consistency and heart that goes into building a creator brand from the ground up.

For a family brand like DaysLikeThis.Life, content creation is not just about posting videos. It involves planning, filming, editing, writing, storytelling, platform strategy, audience engagement, website development, brand partnerships, book promotion and constantly learning how to grow in a fast-changing digital world.

It also means balancing all of that with normal family life.

To have that work recognised by the UK Content Creator Awards feels incredibly encouraging. It is a reminder that family content can be creative, commercially valuable, positive and professionally built, while still remaining true to real life.

For our family, the nomination is also a shared achievement. George and William are a huge part of what makes DaysLikeThis.Life special, and seeing their humour, confidence and personalities connect with people has been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey. Vikki is also central to the brand, both on screen and behind the scenes, helping shape the warmth, humour and relatability that audiences respond to.

Being shortlisted gives us confidence that the brand is moving in the right direction. It also helps us show potential partners, sponsors, publishers and media contacts that DaysLikeThis.Life is not just growing, it is being recognised by the wider creator industry.

Building a Positive Family Brand

One of the things we are most proud of is that DaysLikeThis.Life has grown through positive, family-friendly content.

The internet can often feel noisy and negative, but our aim has always been to create something that feels warm, funny and welcoming. We want people to watch our content and feel as though they have spent a few moments with a family they know.

That could be through a funny school-run moment, a family meal out, a travel day, a seaside adventure, George sharing an unexpected fact, William delivering a joke, or Lola quietly stealing the spotlight.

The brand has also allowed us to shine a light on places we genuinely love, from Bristol and Devon to Cornwall, Spain and beyond. Local businesses, cafés, beaches, family attractions and travel destinations naturally become part of the story because they are part of our life.

That authenticity is something we believe audiences can feel.

Our Experience Entering the Awards

Entering the UK Content Creator Awards has been a really positive experience. The process encouraged us to step back and look properly at what we have built, how far the brand has come, and where we want to take it next.

As creators, it is very easy to focus on the next post, the next video or the next idea. The entry process gave us the chance to reflect on the strategy, growth, audience response and creative direction behind DaysLikeThis.Life.

The Don’t Panic team have also been helpful and professional throughout, and the whole experience has felt encouraging and well organised. For creator-led businesses like ours, being part of an awards process that takes the creator economy seriously is hugely valuable.

Looking Ahead

The next chapter for DaysLikeThis.Life is about continuing to grow the brand while staying true to what made people connect with it in the first place.

We want to keep creating content that feels real, funny, warm and family-focused, while developing stronger partnerships with brands that fit naturally into our world. We are also continuing to build our website, grow our publishing projects, develop our podcasting and storytelling work, and explore new opportunities across media, sponsorship and family entertainment.

Being shortlisted for the UK Content Creator Awards is a major milestone in that journey.

For us, it represents recognition not only of the content itself, but of the family, consistency, creativity and belief behind it.

DaysLikeThis.Life has always been about celebrating the little moments that make life memorable. To now see those moments recognised on a national creator awards platform is something we are incredibly proud of.
